My Morning with the My Father Flor de Las Antillas
Rating: 5/5
There are cigars I reach for out of habit, and then there are cigars like the Flor de Las Antillas—the ones I save for a slow, peaceful morning where I can give them my full attention. This one has been a personal favorite for a while, but today’s session reminded me why it earned a permanent spot in my humidor.
From the first light, I got this silky wave of cocoa and sweet earth, with just enough pepper to keep things interesting without overwhelming the palate. As it settled in, a beautiful balance developed—creamy cedar, a hint of baking spice, and a roasted nuttiness that just lingered. It was smooth the whole way through, never harsh or bitter.
The construction? Flawless. I barely had to think about it—an even burn, perfect draw, and gorgeous ash that held tight. Honestly, it’s a textbook example of how good a medium-bodied cigar can be when everything clicks. If you’re looking for something rich, smooth, and consistent, this one’s an easy 5 out of 5 for me.
